“The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid. And because of his joy he went away and sold all that he had and bought that field. Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a salesman seeking beautiful pearls. And when he found a very expensive pearl, he went and sold everything he owned, and bought it.”

For reflection
How much do we value the Kingdom of God? Are we willing to give up anything and everything that keeps us from possessing it more completely? When we see the Kingdom for the beautiful and expensive pearl that it is, we won’t let anything stand in the way of our laying hold on it more and more every day.

Good News Prayer for the Day
Lord, fill my heart with longing for Your Kingdom! Help me always to seek it and Your righteousness above all else; let nothing get in the way of my knowing Your righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit.
