It’s not that pastors don’t
want to be evaluated; they do. But they would like
those evaluations to be fair and agreed-on in advance,
based on the Word of God, and focused on
the actual work a pastor does in shepherding his
flock.

This instrument has been developed to assist pastors
and church leaders in the task of maintaining
an ongoing self-watch. Both the Old Testament
(Prov. 4.20-27) and the New (1 Tim. 4.16) call us
to careful assessment of our walk with the Lord.
The Personal Discipleship Inventory consists of
three parts:
1. An outline paradigm for thinking about the life of
faith. The Personal Discipleship Inventory envisions
the life of faith as consisting of three facets:
spiritual vision, spiritual disciplines, and spiritual
practices.
2. A series of assessment scales to help you determine
where you stand at any time in relation to the
paradigm of the life of faith.
3. Tabulation and guidelines to help you in setting
goals and improving in your walk with the Lord.
Completing the Personal Disciplship Inventory at
least annually can be an effective means of maintaining
a healthy self-watch and a more conscientious
approach to the life of faith.
